Meet Kenobi, the one-year-old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier! This handsome guy was admitted to our emergency department at Animal Medical Center of Seattle on 7/15/2018 for chronic, intermittent vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence. An abdominal ultrasound was completed by our Internist, Dr. Tanya Donovan, revealing mild pancreatitis and mild irritation of the bowel loops. A pancreatic enzyme test was also completed and returned with mild elevations.

Kenobi was started on IV fluids to help rehydrate him, and medications to help with his nausea and diarrhea. A nasogastric tube was placed, since he wasn’t eating, to help provide him with nutrients too. Kenobi steadily improved over the next few days and eventually started eating on his own. His nasogastric tube was removed and he was discharged to his family to care for him at home.

While Kenobi was hospitalized he made a lot of friends here at the Animal Medical Center. He is such a sweet boy and we all hope Kenobi continues to improve!
